About 700 burial plots are in use at East Zion with about 100 more reserved for future use.
The oldest graves are south and north of the original church which burned in 1919. Early church records indicate about 40 burials do not have a corresponding plot location, so a number of unmarked graves may be present in this section. A new section with plots in a grid was started in 1944. Another addition was plotted in 1967 and the newest section was added in 2000.
An alphabetical and numbered list of all the burial plots is displayed just south of the church front entrance. An additional set of maps are located with the confirmation pictures inside the front entry.
Cemetery board members and other volunteers faithfully mow and care for the cemetery grounds. Board members are elected at the Association's annual meeting. In 2025, your board members are Keith Knutson, Roger Hippe, Luverne Forbord, Matt Pederson, Arlen Pederson and Doug Loy. Please email the board secretary at ezcemetery@gmail.com with comments, questions or concerns. Your support is appreciated to continue to care for this hallowed ground.
