In the fall of 2024, we are facing a major roofing project and exterior repairs due to water/storm damage, including necessary work on the bell tower. We are also hope to repair interior damage and complete a few interior upgrades. You can choose to give a tax-deductible gift to the Building Fund to help us maintain our beautiful 105 year old building.

East Zion Church has weathered many storms, but at least one of those storms left hail and water damage, requiring major repair and re-roofing.
East Zion congregation has received an insurance settlement that will cover a portion of the cost. Repairs and a new steel roof require a bigger investment.

Ardis Kleon (Eliason) Hookom was confirmed at East Zion Lutheran Church. Ardis married Albert Hookom on September 22, 1949 at East Zion.
Ardis and Albert were married 66 years when Albert passed away in 2015.
Ardis was a teacher. Ardis is top, left in this picture with her students. She taught for 40 years in country schools and in Sunburg, Belgrade, and Elrosa. Ardis loved, and was loved by, her many students. Ardis died April 18, 2018, at the age of 91 years.
Ardis' gift made it possible to go forward with a new steel roof for East Zion in 2024! We are very grateful to Ardis for remembering East Zion in her will, making it possible for us to protect our church and congregation from the elements for decades to come.

Our staff and volunteers work tirelessly to build a foundation for the future of our church. Your gift keeps our church clean, stocked with necessary supplies and full of music, connections and a multigenerational community.
You can also choose to direct your donation to our Building Fund, which provides funding for necessary building maintenance, repairs and improvements.
